Twitch streamer TTV_MajesticUnicorn has reportedly been arrested after a viral clip appeared to show her slapping, pushing, and biting her 14-month old son during a live stream.

Earlier today, Calgary Police Service posted that it had arrested and charged a Calgary mother following an investigation into an online video by its Child Abuse Unit.

The description of the video clip from Calgary Police Service appears to match the events that took place in the viral clip from TTV_MajesticUnicorn.

Calgary Police Service said it received multiple tips on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 about an online video clip from a live stream that had been “captured through an online gaming website.” It then went on to describe the contents of the video:

“The video showed a woman playing a game, while roughly handling her young children. The woman is alleged to have slapped, pushed and bitten her 14-month-old son during the course of the video.”

Calgary Police Service added that the online persona was tracked to a Calgary residence and a 31-year old woman was arrested and charged. Her two children have been “taken to a safe location.” The woman is due to appear in court on Friday, January 17, 2020.

“We want to thank the public and the media for bringing this video to our attention. When you find a video such as this online, it is very important that you report it to police, and not just share it throughout social media platforms. In this case we were able to act swiftly to locate the children to ensure their wellbeing, thanks to those who quickly reported the video,” said Child Abuse Unit Staff Sergeant Peter Siegenthaler.

In a statement to CBC News, Calgary Police Service said that videos from the woman’s husband are also being investigated and further charges could be brought. These videos reportedly show a man shouting at two children and using profanities while gaming.

Before the reports of this arrest, a clip of TTV_MajesticUnicorn appearing to bite and roughly handle her young son went viral on Twitter. Shortly after, Twitch suspended the account.
