Drama Alert host Keemstar has published his official response to being sued for $3.5 million by Romeo Lacoste and has vowed to defend his First Amendment rights.
Lacoste’s lawsuit alleges that Keemstar accused him of pedophilia in several videos on social media and that these videos caused him to lose “a mass of individual clients” and “contract opportunities.”
In his response video, Keemstar called “bullsh*t” on the claim that his videos about Lacoste have “injured his future earnings.”
He also played clips from several YouTube lawyers, including The Pot Brothers at Law and Viva Frei, who provided what he described as “an educated understanding of what’s going on” with the lawsuit.
The Pot Brothers at Law said Lacoste’s admission to “sexually charged conversations” with a minor in the lawsuit was a “lesson in shutting the f*ck up.”
Frei said that Lacoste’s allegation that Keemstar accused him of pedophilia “is either factually correct based on the evidence or it is a statement of opinion in which case it can’t be defamatory.”
He added that the Vernon Unsworth vs Elon Musk lawsuit shows that Lacoste is likely to fail on the claim of defamation.
Keemstar described the lawsuit as an attempt to shut him up and said First Amendment protections apply to these types of lawsuits which attempt to “discourage citizens and journalists from exercising their free speech rights.”
“I intend to exercise my right of freedom of speech always,” Keemstar said.
“He doesn’t like the truth of what I’ve been saying,” Keemstar added. “If the result of my broadcast stopped underage individuals from interacting and being preyed on by adults then I deem that as a good thing.”
Keemstar concluded by saying: “On this lawsuit, I plan on winning and I see this as a teachable moment for the free speech rights we have in this country.”
