An open-source Discord alternative

?

“Communication is critical. Privacy is essential.” This is how Revolt, which some consider a promising upcoming free and open-source alternative to the proprietary platform Discord, markets itself. A strong focus is also put on transparency and security.

Those behind it say that the project was started by three UK and Czech students in 2019, as a way to provide an alternative to closed source chat platforms in general. They say that the goal ever since has been to offer a completely compromise-free and open-source platform with the same set of features as the proprietary rivals.
