An Open-Source Way To Monitor Internet Traffic Connected To Your Device

An open-source tool for monitoring what your device may be secretly connected to.

Network monitoring programs are important security tools whose role is to collect and analyze network data that provides administrators with valuable information on a number of network elements and processes.

Among them are traffic structure, activity, and reasons for any network/traffic problems, but also which devices record most activity, etc.

And as with virtually any other type of software, devices/networks, and administration tools developed for them - the more open (to security audits and development), the better.

One such, open-source app is Sniffnet. Typically, these dedicated tools add a lot of functionality to network activity monitoring solutions already present in an operating system by going deeper and providing more useful details.
