David A. Clarke, a former Sheriff of Milwaukee County has had his tweets removed by Twitter, after he suggested that people patronize restaurants, bars, and malls, and not remain at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
“GO INTO THE STREETS FOLKS. Visit bars, restaurants, shopping malls, CHURCHES and demand that your schools re-open. NOW! If government doesn’t stop this foolishness…STAY IN THE STREETS. END GOVERNMENT CONTROL OVER OUR LIVES. IF NOT NOW, WHEN? THIS IS AN EXPLOITATION OF A CRISIS,” wrote Clarke.
What’s more, the former Sheriff said that the billionaire George Soros was involved in the coronavirus outbreak and that people must not pay heed to the government’s warnings.
Clarke stated that the US government’s response to the Coronavirus was nothing but the byproduct of “several decades of liberal wussification”.
The CDC recently advised and recommended to call off any gatherings involving fifty or more people for the coming weeks.
In an effort to “flatten the curve” and control the disease from spreading, several Americans all across the country are practicing social distancing.
“We closed America, we crashed the economy not on the basis of factual information but out of panic, fear & hysteria,” wrote Clarke.
But while Clarke’s tweets earning him a lot of pushback, Twitter went as far as removing his tweets from the platform.
According to a Twitter spokesperson, this was on the basis that they consider Clarke’s tweets to be “encouraging self-harm”.
In one of the removed tweets, Clarke urged businesses to “defy the order” and stay open as the efforts to battle the outbreak was nothing but an “orchestrated attempt to destroy CAPITALISM”.
“I am TIRED of all this, ‘we have to err on the side of caution’ BULL SH*T. WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO REASONABLENESS DAMMIT. It’s the DAMN FLU. Stop being afraid and start being SENSIBLE. WASH YOUR FUCK*NG HANDS! STOP BUYING TOILET PAPER. DO YOU FUC*ING HEAR ME????” read another tweet that was removed by Twitter.
