How companies use AI combined with CCTV to determine people you’re associated with

Some of the latest (publicly known) developments in “AI-powered” mass surveillance is software that performs what’s referred to as correlation analysis and co-appearance, with the goal of not only monitoring one person, but also figuring out who that person associates with.

This is possible thanks to the massive number of surveillance cameras already populating many public places, thus allowing for people to be tracked, but now to analyze their interactions with others as well.
