PewDiePie, the uncontested king of YouTube, took a dig at “simps” (a male audience that donates huge amounts of cash to female streamers on platforms such as Twitch) and mocked them by saying that they were “the lowest of the low.”

He further added that he could never wrap his head around wanting to donate lavishly to streamers such as “Pokimane” Anys and said that he found the whole idea disgusting.

What’s more, PewDiePie also said that the people donating such huge amounts were the reason behind the whole outrage surrounding the term “simp”.

The Swedish YouTuber also highlighted the fact that a few streamers such as BadBunny were complaining about not receiving donations from their viewers.

“She knows what she’s doing. She’s antagonizing the simps,” PewDiePie said.

“Imagine donating to an e-girl,” PewDiePie said. “Pathetic.”

PewDiePie was trying to convey the fact that female streamers start to feel entitled to viewers’ money as simps are simply pumping their money into the pockets of these streamers for reasons not so credible.

“Simps then come to the rescue”, said the YouTuber, while pointing out to how a certain set of fans would flock to support female streamers in times of backlash and criticism.

PewDiePie also posted his reaction to the dance video of Pokimane, in which a user called Russell ended up donating $500 to her. “Russell! Why would you do that? Why would you sink that low? Never do that again,” said the YouTuber.

PewDiePie did not spare himself either. While he was talking about how simping wasn’t OK, an image appears all of a sudden, labeling him as a simp. “Imagine simping for a girl with dyed hair”, said PewDiePie, referring to himself and his wife Marzia, who is known for dying her hair often.

PewDiePie’s recent upload was simple tongue-in-cheek humor. While seeming funny on the outside, the video also brought to light the current trend of “simping” and how it is leading to an entitled attitude among a select few female streamers across platforms such as Twitch.
