The (lack of) ethics of coronavirus passports

The soul-searching aspect of it – not to mention the legal and privacy controversies – accompanying the efforts to quickly introduce vaccine, or Covid “passports” as a way to allow people to reclaim some semblance of their life prior to the epidemic, like entering large venues, physically participating in public events, traveling to places – seems to be just begging.

It doesn’t bode well for those pushing it, no doubt hoping it would be an easy sell to capture the hearts and minds of a world weary from a year-long pandemic, that despite this, more and more people are beginning the question the way these (various, and numerous) schemes are currently developed, and even deployed, across many jurisdictions around the world.
