The UK has a shadowy and opaque Ukraine Counter Disinformation Unit

While a hot war is being fought in Ukraine, the UK is making efforts to engage in its own, Cold War-like information showdown with Russia, by using existing and creating new teams, but also by co-opting large social media platforms and relying on their cooperation.

UK’s authorities and media reports refer to this as a “war on Kremlin disinformation” – and some of its participants are “veterans” of another information control campaign, whose task has been to fight “Covid misinformation.”
