Think of the children – that’s the gist of the way the upcoming UK’s Online Harms Bill is being presented and promoted to the public.

But the bill’s purpose and scope are much broader than protecting children on the internet, including from sexual exploitation: it also seeks to tackle issues like terrorism, bullying, โ€œmisinformationโ€, fake news, and even undermine encryption tech companies offer to their users.
