Adam Mosseri, the clean-cut face of Instagram took the stand in the FTC’s antitrust showdown against his employer, Meta, and did something wildly off-script for a Meta executive: he spoke in a much more candid and direct way.

Meta has been Mosseri’s home since 2008, just three years after people stopped calling it “The Facebook” and thought poking someone online was a romantic gesture. He cut his teeth on the News Feed, climbing from product manager to Vice President, before being anointed Head of Instagram in 2018. That’s his actual title.
