2020 Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is being attacked by left-wing Twitter users after he shared a clip of podcaster Joe Rogan endorsing his presidential campaign.

“I think I’ll probably vote for Bernie… He’s been insanely consistent his entire life. He’s basically been saying the same thing, been for the same thing his whole life. And that in and of itself is a very powerful structure to operate from,” Rogan said in the clip.

Shortly after sharing the clip, an outrage mob started laying into Sanders and smearing Rogan as a “bigot,” “racist,” “transphobe,” and “white nationalist.”

Rogan is the world’s most popular interview podcaster and has around 190 million monthly listeners. Some tried to point out that an endorsement from such a popular figure is a good thing.

“I can’t believe there are people that think the wildly popular Joe Rogan endorsing Bernie Sanders is BAD thing,” said journalist Rania Khalek. “Come on people, the world is bigger than the puritanical twitter bubble we live in.”

“Rogan is a part of our politics and has millions of people who listen to him. Nothing you do can change that. You can either have him in the Sanders tent in conversation with people with decent values or cast him out into the arms of Trump. The latter will do far more harm,” said DC bureau chief at The Intercept, Ryan Grimm.

However, these words fell on deaf ears for many.
