The debut of Ayasel Slay’s new song “Girl From Mecca” on YouTube has resulted in an arrest warrant from the government of Saudi Arabia who believe the rapper is being disrespectful to their traditions.

After the official video of the song appeared on YouTube, the authorities of this country decided to issue an arrest warrant against the singer and her production team, because they considered that “Girl From Mecca” offends both their customs and traditions.

Based on government statements, reprisals can be considered religious due to the importance of the city to Islam.

However, Ayasel Saly’s song does not seem to include a negative message; in fact, it is about the characteristics of the women inhabitants of Mecca, highlighting their beauty and power in society.

Although – some have suggested that this in itself could be the reason why the government wants her silenced.

The great conflict that the song has generated

The arrest warrant was announced through the Twitter account @MakkahRegion (official city account), where it became clear that the person responsible for issuing it was the Prince of Mecca himself, Khalid bin Faisal.

This decision does not seem to be supported by many of the inhabitants of the city that was supposed to have seen the birth of the prophet Muhammad, according to Islam.

Several fans of the rapper began to defend her, arguing that the video does not present anything offensive since it is only her singing while some children and teenagers dance in the background.

Some have even claimed that the real reason for issuing the order is racism due to Ayasel Slay’s ethnicity.

On the opposite side, there is a group of people who do support the decision, attacking Slay and other Africans with racist comments demanding their deportation.

Despite all the negative comments that the government has received from the singer’s followers, they have not diminished their efforts to apprehend Slay.

Saudi Arabia remains one of the countries that most violates human rights according to Amnesty International.

It should be noted that Khalid bin Faisal’s order against “Girl From Mecca” emerged after the video went viral on YouTube.

Currently, the official video can no longer be found on the official channel on platform, but according to a YouTube representative, they had nothing to do with its removal.
