How facial recognition worked its way into 80% of US airports

?

Facial recognition-based technology is taking over, and fast, at international airports, replacing previous solutions like self-service passport kiosks.

Even though they seem to be doing a better job in terms of convenience, i.e., speed, these kiosks’ “flaw” basically comes down to the inability to recognize faces. And the trend of collecting this specific biometric data point from travelers and people in public places in general is clearly gaining momentum.
