Regarding her latest 12-hour ban from Twitter, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene turned to Facebook to defend the statements that contributed to her temporary ban and talk about the growing suppression of speech on Big Tech platforms.

Greene was temporarily locked out from Twitter on Monday evening after she said that COVID wasn’t dangerous for those who aren’t obese and who are under 65.

Twitter contested the statements and, soon, the Georgia Republican was unable to tweet for 12 hours.

Regarding her 12-hour ban from Twitter, Greene turned to another Big Tech platform Facebook on Monday night to talk about free speech (or the lack of it) on social media.

Greene streamed a 34-minute video on Facebook Live, which is still viewable on her profile, in which she denounced Twitter’s action and explained her remarks.

Greene claimed on Facebook that she only had Twitter and Facebook accounts because she was a member of Congress, and she reiterated her opposition to mandatory vaccination. Many military members refused to take the vaccination, and their families were frightened, she added.

On Tuesday, Greene released a statement to Newsweek:

“Twitter, Facebook, and the rest of the Silicon Valley Cartel are working hand in hand with the White House to censor Americans. This is a Communist-style attack on free speech.”

“These Big Tech companies are doing the bidding of the Biden regime to restrict our voices and prevent the spread of any message that isn’t state-approved,” Greene said. “I will not back down and I will continue to tell the truth to the American people.”

Greene’s Facebook Live broadcast comes amid a spat between the White House and Facebook about not censoring enough. Last week, President Joe Biden accused Facebook of “killing people,” but after backlash from the social media platform, Biden retracted his statement.
