USA v. Google – Week 8

The trial that could change the internet forever.

Day 30

The highly-anticipated 30th day of the US versus Google antitrust trial saw Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai take the stand. John Schmidtlein, the lawyer representing Google, painted a serene picture of Pichai’s journey at Google. Commencing his career at the tech giant in 2004 as a product manager, Pichai ascended the corporate ladder to become CEO in 2013. Schmidtlein emphasized Pichai’s passion for Google and its aim to elevate global access to information. Nevertheless, the strategy seemed more of an attempt to divert attention from the tech giant’s alleged monopolistic behaviors.
