On Tuesday, President Joe Biden accused unspecified cable TV personalities and social media platforms of monetizing and benefiting from the spreading of “lies” about Covid vaccines and spreading false information.

The president made the accusations during a White House announcement where he warned the unvaccinated about the fast-spreading Omicron variant.

Biden said: “The unvaccinated are responsible for their own choices.”

“Those choices have been fueled by dangerous misinformation on cable TV and social media,” he added.

However, he did not mention any social media company or television personality by name. President Biden has also previously accused Facebook of allowing the spread of false information about the vaccines.

“You know, these companies and personalities are making money by peddling lies and allowing misinformation that can kill their own customers and their own supporters,” Biden said.

“It’s wrong. It’s immoral. I call on the purveyors of these lies and misinformation to stop it. Stop it now,” President Biden said.

Twitter is currently facing a lawsuit from journalist Alex Berenson who was banned from Twitter days after the President told social media companies to crack down on vaccine “misinformation.”

Berenson was banned for saying that Covid vaccines do not stop the transmission of Covid, contradicting President Biden’s claim that getting vaccines prevents people from getting Covid.
