YouTube has started testing blocking ad blockers. A Reddit user on the subreddit r/YouTube reported that on attempting to use YouTube, a pop-up appeared telling them that ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube. They had to deactivate their ad blocker or subscribe to YouTube Premium, a subscription service that does not display ads. A YouTube employee confirmed to r/YouTube moderators that YouTube was conducting an “experiment” on blocking ad blockers.
