Schools are embracing invasive facial recognition surveillance

?

The idea of deploying biometric surveillance technology affecting children in US schools as a way to prevent mass shootings has been gaining traction as of late.

Unsurprisingly this issue is yet another that is becoming increasingly political, with arguments over gun rights overshadowing the core problem that (mass) surveillance based on facial recognition and biometrics brings with it, and that is personal data security and privacy of people subjected to it. There are further concerns that go into bias through inaccuracy, etc.
