How to Turn Off Your Vizio Smart TV Tracking Features

Vizio smart TVs have a number of built-in tracking features. Here’s how to turn them off.

Most modern Vizio smart TVs use the company’s SmartCast system. However, some models use Vizio Internet Apps. Both of these systems can track what you watch. Here’s how to shut off their tracking features.

1. How to Turn Off SmartCast Tracking

1. Select “System.”

2. Select “Reset & Admin.”

3. Select “Viewing Data” and toggle it off.

1. Select “System.”

2. Select “Reset & Admin.”

3. Select “Smart Interactivity” and toggle it off.

3. How to Turn Off Google Chromecast Tracking

Vizio smart TVs often have Chromecast built-in which sends usage data and crash reports to Google. To disable this data collection:

1. Open the Google Home app on your phone.

2. Select your TV from the listed devices.

3. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.

4. Select “Settings.”

5. Turn off “Send Chromecast device usage data and crash reports.”
