Odysee is the decentralized pick that still feels like a normal video site. It began as a front end to the LBRY blockchain, though that era is ending. After LBRY Inc. lost an SEC case and shut down in 2023, Forward Research acquired Odysee in 2024 and started moving it onto Arweave for storage and payments. The LBRY Credits tipping is being retired in favor of a new Arweave-based system, alongside ordinary memberships and direct tipping. The front-end code stays open source and the censorship-resistant pitch holds. It is a platform mid-transition. Even so, it is a good middle ground between reach and resilience.
