CoMaps is a 2025 community fork of Organic Maps, created after a governance dispute, with a firm commitment to being not-for-profit and community-governed. It strips out the Firebase and affiliate-tracking code while keeping the same fast, fully offline experience built on OpenStreetMap data. You download maps once and navigate on-device with no account, no ads, and no data collection. Since forking it has shipped regular releases and reached the Play Store, App Store, F-Droid, and, as of early 2026, Linux via Flathub. If you value transparent, community-run governance, it is the natural companion to Organic Maps.
