Cryptee combines an encrypted documents editor with a private photo vault, encrypting everything client-side before it leaves your device so the service cannot read it. It is run by a small, subscription-funded company in Estonia, comfortably outside the 14 Eyes. The client apps are open source, though the backend is kept closed to protect its anti-abuse systems so it is not fully auditable end to end. The free plan is a tight 100 MB, with paid storage starting around €3/mo. It suits people who want notes and photos secured in one place with no setup.
Strengths
- Client-side encryption for notes and photos
- Estonia-based, outside the 14 Eyes
- Open-source client apps
- No setup required

- Backend is closed source
- Free tier limited to 100 MB
