Mailbox.org sits a step behind Posteo on privacy, on the same German footing and with an opt-in PGP mailbox added. It logs IP addresses. Its at-rest encryption leaves the Sent folder, the subject lines, and the metadata exposed. Key management runs server-side through its Guard system. You are trusting its servers unless you bring your own keys with Mailvelope. The wider feature set, including an office suite, also widens the attack surface. It is a fair pick if you want the suite, with weaker defaults than Posteo.
Strengths
- Opt-in PGP mailbox
- Includes an office suite and calendar
Considerations
- Logs IP addresses
- At-rest encryption leaves the Sent folder, subjects and metadata exposed
- Server-side Guard key management unless you bring your own keys
