Tuta is the lean, cheaper take on encrypted mail. It encrypts the subject line as well as the body, ships desktop apps with no paid bridge to buy, and is fully open source. The trade is a closed ecosystem. There is no IMAP or SMTP at all. You are committing to Tuta’s own apps and nothing else. Worth it if that fits how you work.
