We can all probably agree that Google is one of the most powerful companies in the world, but is it also the most dangerous?
US Senator Ted Cruz doesn't seem to have any doubt, as he told Breitbart in an interview after participating in a campaign event in Georgia over the weekend.
While Twitter is the most brazen, Cruz said that Big Tech in general today represents the greatest single threat to free and fair elections. But if he had to choose the one most dangerous in this respect, the senator had no problem picking Google, blasting it as "the most dangerous company on the face of the planet."
The nature of the danger the trillion-dollar giant represents to democracy, according to Cruz, is its sheer size, power and the resulting influence. He also mentioned its dominant position in the search market.
