“Nothing to hide”

?

No doubt the favorite “slogan” used as an argument by many of those who work to undermine people’s privacy – be they law enforcement or tech companies – has been the “nothing to hide” mantra.

The logic behind this is trying to prove and convince the masses that invasive policies, and technology used to implement them are what’s important to provide and maintain security at all costs, while privacy is a minor point important only to “suspicious” folk with “something to hide.”
