Kontact is KDE's integrated communications suite, pairing the KMail client with calendar, contacts, and feeds in a single window on Linux. Each component can also run standalone and it offers built-in OpenPGP and S/MIME encryption alongside CalDAV and CardDAV. It is fully open source and free, and fits naturally into the KDE Plasma desktop. Its Akonadi backend can be fiddly to set up and occasionally needs a manual reset. It is the natural pick for Plasma users wanting a private alternative to Outlook.
