How The US Government Is Funding AI Studies That Tell If You’ve Violated “Social Norms”

Major implications.

A paper published in May this year in Nature, authored by Israel’s Ben-Gurion University researchers Yair Neuman and Yochai Cohen and funded by the Pentagon, looks for ways to use AI in order to identify feelings of having committed “social norm violations.”

And, to do this by correctly discerning emotional signals that betray those feelings.
